The Teaching of Humanities and Other Trivia

"Humanities" is Western society's name for the academic expression of its fundamental values. There are other branches of learning—medicine, law, engineering, and business, all of which benefit from the humanities—but only the "liberal arts" reflect a society's soul, central beliefs, highest aspirations, and ultimately its culture.
