Author John Lott of “More Guns, Less Crime” fame had this to say about a personal encounter with the future POTUS during his time at the University of Chicago law school in his latest book (hat tip to Mark Brennan and David Gordon):
“I first met him in 1996, shortly after my research on concealed handgun laws and crime had come to national attention. I introduced myself, and he responded, ‘Oh, you are the gun guy.’ ‘Yes, I guess so,‘ I answered. ‘I don’t believe that people should be able to own guns,’ Obama replied. I then suggested that it might be fun to have lunch and talk about that sometime. He simply grimaced and turned away, ending the conversation.”
What Obama probably meant was: ”I don’t believe that White, non-deviant, Christian men should be able to own guns”. After all, they might cling to them or religion. Or worse: use them to defend themselves against Obama’s “sons” like the gangsta martyr Trayvon Martin.
The fact that someone who denies one of the most important parts of the U.S. Constitution, yet is allowed to teach constitutional law speaks volumes about American legal education. A constitutional law professor who denies the Second Amendment is like a cardinal who denies the Nicene Creed.
Obama’s second-term scandals—IRS, Benghazi, wiretapping The Associated Press and Fox—are in the low-kiloton range compared to the resignation of Nixon or the impeachment of Clinton.
Barack Hussein Obama can’t seem to get over the Trayvon Martin case. First, it was his statement that his son would look (and act ?) like Trayvon. Now, he says that “Trayvon Martin could have been me, 35 years ago”. One wonders what next pearl of wisdom will escape the lips of POTUS: ”I did the same thing Trayvon Martin did 35 years ago, but got away with it”?
Even half-wit presidents like Slick Willie and Dubya had the presence of mind not to interject so obnoxiously into a criminal case which was adjudicated by a jury of their peers. For someone who supposedly went to Harvard Law School, our current president demonstrates a remarkably poor understanding of how American courts work.
Obama would do well to remember the words of his friend Jesse “Hymietown” Jackson before he makes any more idiotic and incendiary comments about the Trayvon Martin case:
There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved…
Mohamed Morsi’s removal from power is not a “massive blow” to political Islam, much less the proof of its failure. It is the result of the Muslim Brotherhood’s attempt to monopolize all power, coupled with the MB government’s gross economic and social mismanagement.
“They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Ben Franklin is much quoted in today’s debate on the trade-off between freedom and security, as we learn about the National Security Agency’s easy access to our phone records and emails. Yet we Americans have often sacrificed liberty for safety.
Barack Obama has just taken his first baby steps into a war in Syria that may define and destroy his presidency. Thursday, while he was ringing in Gay Pride Month with LGBT revelers, a staffer, Ben Rhodes, informed the White House press that U.S. weapons will be going to the Syrian rebels. For two years Obama has stayed out of this sectarian-civil war that has consumed 90,000 lives. Why is he going in now?
Obama administration officials have convenient ways of evading responsibility. Hilary made her getaway before some of the truth about Benghazi began to ooze out from the cracks, and Holder not only has recused himself from the investigation of the AP story but he blames subordinates for all his woes. Best of all, perhaps, is the evader-in-chief who now claims that he always called the Benghazi attack a terrorist incident.
The Democratic convention will witness one sustained slander of Romney and Ryan as Randian agents of a plutocracy hell-bent on seeing its taxes reduced and the tax cuts paid for by eviscerating programs on which America’s poor and the working and middle class depend for survival.
As the Secret Service travel and work in close contact with the White House Advance Office and White House Communications Agency, was the Obama staff oblivious to this misconduct? If they were aware of it, did no one report it to the White House chief of staff?
President Obama has made it clear that babies get in the way of big dreams.
