Tea Party Nation?
Tea Party candidates–or at least candidates with support from Sarah Palin and/or Jim Demint–continue to knock off “establishment” Republicans. Party hacks are disturbed: These aspiring populist leaders are unseasoned and will go down in defeat against the Democrats. Why can’t we all just get along?
The Creaturely Myth
Dickens’ Great Expectations obviously has an ironic title, and to appreciate the point, we have to read the book alertly and even think about what we remember. Such an approach would not bear fruit with the Karl Rove romance, however. His book has a title that is the opposite of ironic, whatever that might be.
