After the Fall

Obama administration officials have convenient ways of evading responsibility.  Hilary made her getaway before some of the truth about Benghazi began to ooze out from the cracks, and Holder not only has recused himself from the investigation of the AP story but he blames subordinates for all his woes.  Best of all, perhaps, is the evader-in-chief who now claims that he always called the Benghazi attack a terrorist incident.

Payback Time In Washington?

The Sotomayor ruckus, with its senatorial and media back-and-forths about judicial power and racism, is one indicator that Americans like and trust each other less, if possible, than they have since maybe 1861.

Still a stronger indicator is the storm boiling over whether, and how hard, to go after Bush administration officials—former Vice President Cheney among them—over what they did to defeat terrorists.

Nation of Cowards

Yesterday was supposed to be the day the TV died in Rockford, but the local ABC affiliate decided to run the Evening News. With a glass of wine in hand, I decided to bid farewell to the demons that are devouring the brains of Americans. The show did not disappoint. One of the featured stories was the speech given by Attorney General Eric Holder to Justice Department employees as part of Black History Month.
