Thomas Fleming

Thomas Fleming is the president of The Rockford Institute and the editor of Chronicles: A Magazine of American Culture. He has worked at the Institute since 1984. He is the author of The Politics of Human Nature, Montenegro: The Divided Land, and The Morality of Everyday Life, named Editors' Choice in philosophy by Booklist in 2005. He is the coauthor of The Conservative Movement and the editor of Immigration and the American Identity. He holds a Ph.D. in classics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Before joining the Rockford Institute, he taught classics at the University of Miami of Ohio, served as an advisor to the U.S. Department of Education, and was headmaster at the Archibald Rutledge Academy. He has been published in, among others, The Spectator (London), Independent on Sunday (London), Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, USA Today, Chicago Sun-Times, National Review, Classical Journal, Telos, and Modern Age. He and his wife, Gail, have four children and three grandchildren.

James E. Easton

James E. Easton is director of development for The Rockford Institute.

Scott P. Richert

Scott P. Richert is the executive editor of Chronicles: A Magazine of American Culture. He joined the Institute in 1996 after completing his doctoral coursework at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he interned at Accuracy in Media and the National Humanities Institute. In addition to penning his monthly Chronicles column, The Rockford Files, he supervises the planning, production, and circulation of the magazine. He also serves as system administrator for the Institute's computer network. He holds an M.A. in political theory from the Catholic University of America. He has been published in, among others, The Family in America, This World, Culture Wars, and Humanitas. He is the Guide to Catholicism at About.com. He and his wife, Amy, have eight children.

Aaron D. Wolf

Aaron D. Wolf is associate editor of Chronicles: A Magazine of American Culture and webmaster of www.ChroniclesMagazine.org. He joined the Institute in 1999. He holds an M.A. in Christian thought and church history from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, and a B.A. in philosophy from Rockford College. As associate editor, he manages the day-to-day operation of the magazine through all phases of the production schedule. His regular column for Chronicles is Heresies. His writings have appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers. He is a frequent guest on Issues, Etc., has appeared on several radio programs, including The Tom Clark Show (Wisconsin Public Radio) and Extension 720 With Milt Rosenberg (WGN), and has lectured for a variety of Lutheran and Southern conferences and organizations. He and his wife, Lorrie, have six children.

Chilton Williamson, Jr.

Chilton Williamson, Jr. is senior editor for books at Chronicles: A Magazine of American Culture, a post he has held since 1989. His regular column for Chronicles is What's Wrong With the World. Before joining Chronicles, he worked as history editor at Saint Martin's Press, after which he became literary and then senior editor at National Review (1976-1989). He holds a B.A. in European history from Columbia College with four years of graduate work in American History from Columbia University. He is the author of After Tocqueville: The Promise and Failure of Democracy, The Education of Héctor Villa, Mexico Way, The Conservative Bookshelf, The Hundredth Meridian, The Immigration Mystique: America's False Conscience, Saltbound: A Block Island Winter, Roughnecking It, Desert Light, and The Homestead. He has been published in, among others, the Arizona Republic, National Review, Harper's, and The New Republic. He and his wife, Maureen, live in Wyoming.
