A US or joint US/Israeli attack on Iran has long been predicted, but just maybe we were spared this back in February by a quiet behind-the-scenes mutiny. It was widely rumored that Bush would attack within a week, when an article appeared in the Times of London stating that several top ranking generals and admirals (all un-named) would resign if given orders to attack Iran. And then there were no more rumors of an attack. Since then Adm. Fallon (any relation, Mr. Joseph Fallon?) has been quoted as saying that an attack on Iran won't happen on his watch and "we're putting the crazies back in their box." It wasn't the crazies in Teheran he was referring to and as far as I know he has not repudiated the quotes attributed to him. In the US imperial new world order, the only check on a mad emperor may be sane proconsuls.
