Remember St. Elmo
Tomorrow we remember the fall of Fortress Saint Elmo, the sacrificial lamb that saved Europe in 1565 from being overrun by the troublesome Turk. Here is a brief piece I wrote honoring the event and the man with the courage to act alone as Europe stood idly by: Jean de la Valette, Grand Master of the Knights of St. John.
