My good friend Ambassador Bissett displays the mature reasoning and conscientious judgment that was once expected of a diplomat. It was this pragmatic wisdom that used to keep both our countries out of unnecessary wars.
Ambassador Bissett is the quintessential analyst and logical diplomat - - - nonexistent characteristics among today’s “foreign policy” and “National Security Council” globalists.
Similar to Dr. Trifkovic, Ambassador Bissett’s articles always define “the score.”
Principled class act.
"The NATO intervention in Bosnia and Kosovo - despite strong evidence to the contrary - continues to be hailed as highly successful operations."
Of course. How could the R2P proponents continue to argue for intervention all over the globe if any of their efforts were deemed to be failures. When Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya result in failure, they will be 0 for 4, but they will claim 4 solid successes while arguing for intervention #5.
One advantage of not defining what constitutes success ahead of time is that no one can claim you didn't achieve your objectives. On the other hand, to paraphrase Yogi Berra, if you don't know where you're going, you might not get there.
Or as Yogi said in a different context:
"This is like deja vu all over again."
