"Derek Leaberry alludes to a great point rarely mentioned in the immigration debate. Every Dollar earned in the US that is sent out of the country contributes nothing to our economy and in effect adds to our trade deficit."

Wake up, Mr. Stanton. This is just as intended. It will get worse until we are integrated with Canada and Mejico.

I have noticed recently at the Annandale 7-11 amongst other places that Virginia good ole boys are starting to take on as day laborers, thus giving the Salvadorans and other assorted illegals a run for their money. While these Americans collect unemployment, they are also working on the cash/underground economy thus depriving our greedy rulers of income tax money. I view this as a good thing.

Mr. Mallory brings up a good point. How can Mr. Murchison approve of Bush's misguided nation-building efforts in the Middle East, especially at the cost of 4000+ dead, 20,000+ wounded, tens of families ripped apart and $ 1 trillion?

Inevitably, how can a country that is financially and morally bankrupt have a thriving free market economy? I don't think it can. Whether it is Obama or Romney or, heaven forbid, Jeb Bush at the controls, government will continue to manipulate the economy as never before for the benefit of favored interests. Free market economics are about as popular right now as Constitutional government and Jeffersonian small government. Reaganomics is in tatters.

If the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan are examples of doing something well, I would hate to see failure.

Sorry but including "in the people’s broad interest" excludes the current conflicts (Congress doesn't even have the courage to declare formal war any more).
