The Fort Hood Massacre

It makes no sense to see Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, as represented in at least one family account, as the victim of "harassment" by fellow soldiers (and therefore a candidate for "understanding"?) He's an officer. Soldiers don't harass officers.

It makes no sense to suggest he'd been traumatized by narratives he had heard concerning the awfulness of combat in Iraq and therefore resisted the idea of deployment there. He's an Army psychiatrist, not a rifleman. Since when, anyway—read The Iliad—for confirmation—has combat been other than awful?

It makes sense to ponder deeply—I did not say "conclude," I said ponder deeply—the possibility that in Maj. Nidal the Army had, unwittingly, in its bosom a treasonable viper; a supporter of Islamic jihad against the West and the United States; a soldier who, in violation of military oath and citizenship, opened fire on soldiers as he cried, "Allahu Akbar." "Allahu Akbar" is the familiar cry of Islamic terrorists all over the world as they pounce on the unwitting.

We shall see about all this in due course. We'd better prepare meantime to learn some things we'd rather not learn, such as that a swath of international Islam—indeterminate in size but nonetheless vicious—wishes all Americans dead; and that allegiance to Islam can override any considerations of loyalty to, or appreciation for, the United States.

A day or two before the Fort Hood bloodbath, an Afghan policeman made a kindred declaration of hatred for the West. When the British soldiers who had worked and lived with him were at ease, he mowed down five and then escaped.  Whether, in so doing, he shouted, "Allahu Akbar," I haven't read. It would have fit.

Scoundrels who shoot their comrades aren't unknown in military annals. It happens in every war—even the "good" ones. It horrifies out of proportion to other deeds, in that civilization teaches respect for friends and friendship. Just here, fanatics, such as Muslim murderers, have made famous uprisings in denial of civilization itself. The mass murderer doesn't ponder the personal qualities of those he intends to annihilat—babies, teenagers, mothers, fathers, whoever happens to be there. He throws his hands in the air. "Allahu Akbar." Boom!

The mass slaughter of innocents is un-American (save in decisive instances such as Hiroshima). We basically don't get it. Surely it can't be on account of hatred. We explore alternative possibilities. The poor guy suffered from lack of love. Others were mean to him. He was mentally confused. He snapped—yes, maybe that was it. He snapped, as with various school and post office massacres.

None of which speaks to the terrifying possibility that particular killers particularly hate and scorn and despise the victims, as on 9/11, as with the London bus bombings and the commuter rail bombings in Spain. And the Fort Hood massacre?

That we can't know yet. A careful society, nevertheless, mindful both of human lives and human freedoms, has to brace itself for the possibility that in the war on terror a new domestic front could be opening.

Responsible Muslims, to their undoubted credit, have denounced the Fort Hood massacre. That hardly means other Muslims do not rub their hands in satisfaction as they await future opportunities to gun down soldiers and civilians engaged in shoring up civilization. Murderers of any and all religions hate civilization as a living reproach to . . . themselves and their notions.

The war on terror isn't over or even much abated, for all the domestic recoil from waterboarding and Guantanamo and "unconstitutional" assaults on civil liberties.

Down the highway a piece from my own city, Dallas, the fighting appears to go on. May I be mistaken in this! That would be wonderful. The guy snapped—what a relief it would prove to many if this were the case. We could go back to rooting for more apologies by President Obama for national arrogance. And yet that privilege may not be available. We need to brace ourselves.

  1. If the US becomes part of culturally dead western Europe -- as the Russians are predicting, then maybe Texas can get that long-awaited opportunity to become the republic it used to be. When that day arrives, I'll pack my guns and my bags and move there as fast as my feet and pick-up truck will carry me. But the ROT will need to assure the remnant of Anglo-saxon civilization that they'll continue to have open season on lawless barbarians, with the death penalty clocking up at least a soul a day. That should rid the world of its worst offenders.

And I'll print up T-shirts with the slogan; Yankee Imperialists go home!

  2. "The mass slaughter of innocents is un-American (save in decisive instances such as Hiroshima)."

That, I'm afraid, is a big steaming pile of BS.

    Hiroshima/Nagasaki
fire bombings of Tokyo, leveling of Dresden, carpet bombing in general throughout WWII
Wounded Knee, Trail of Tears, a thousand and one other examples
    culture of lynching of Blacks
My Lai, firebombing of villages, etc.
    Latin American death squads
1/2 million+ Iraqis killed through our sanctions regime and intentional and unnecessary destruction of civilian infrastructure in Gulf War I

And your "decisive" has about the same meaning (and moral stink) to it as their "jihad". We're all capable of great evil. And of great self-justifying delusion.

  3. Sorry but the line “The mass slaughter of innocents is un-American (save in decisive instances such as Hiroshima)” sound hyper hypocritical to me. Among other problems with such a sentence it is not factual. I also think the term "un-American" is rather sinister, as in "anti-soviet" or "enemy of the people". Next step is the gulag.

  4. "The mass slaughter of innocents is un-American (save in decisive instances such as Hiroshima). We basically don’t get it. Surely it can’t be on account of hatred. We explore alternative possibilities. The poor guy suffered from lack of love. Others were mean to him. He was mentally confused. He snapped—yes, maybe that was it. He snapped, as with various school and post office massacres." Since 1973 America has permitted the death of its unborn at the rate of 1.3 million a year. This is absolute hatred of the innocent. Americans call this decision "choice". The next step is oblivion.

  5. I concur with all of the foregoing. And why must Mr. Murchison subtly deride the notion that the attacks of recent administrations on civil liberties were, his quotation marks, "unconstitutional?".

  6. Got to go with the others here, this country is far from clean on evil deeds.

  7. In Birmingham, they love the governor (boo boo boo)
Now we all did what we could do
Now Watergate does not bother me
    Does your conscience bother you?
    Tell me the truth

  8. The persons commenting on this thread, except @1, are morons or eccentrics. The point is that we have Muslims, our traditional civilizational enemy, ensconced and even promoted within our military. I'm very surprised there haven't been more such incidents. What Christian 'conservative' whites, who are every bit as foolish on racial matters as liberals, need to understand is that only whites willingly (and idiotically) kill other whites - at least in the course of a racial conflict (non-whites will certainly butcher their racial kinsmen in sub-racial conflicts). Thus, whenever our ridiculous NWO government wants to fight some foreign non-white people, it ought to know that members of its diverse army will sympathize and ultimately side with the designated enemy.

Thus, for example, thousands of American born Japs voluntarily repatriated themselves to fight for Imperial Japan against 'their homeland', the US (of course, the homeland for minorities in the US is NEVER the US - it is always the ancestral country or continent). Do any race-liberals here actually think that there would not be dozens of such massacres if the US went to war with China, hundreds in a real war with a black nation (invading somewhere to impose a little order doesn't count), and thousands if and when we eventually have to go to war again with Mexico?

  9. @6 Dwright
And among the worst of those evils was Reconstruction, in which the defeated South was plundered, occupied, and humiliated economically. The constant abuse gave rise to the Klan. After all, nothing happens in a vacuum.

In Dixon's "The Leopard's Spots," it was clear that 500 years would need to elapse in order to undo the damage. We still have to live with Yankee stupidity down here.

  10. Although the author and several contributors have delicately danced around the subject, no one, it seems, is willing to identify the real enemy in this, and other cases. Need I recall the earlier actions of an American black's conversion to Islam, Hasan Akbar, a US Army sergeant, who murdered two officers six years ago? His motive and actions, and those of the Ft. Hood murderer, were one and the same. In 2006, three years after his trial, a military court upheld the death sentence; yet, to this day, no date for his execution has been set. A harbinger of things to come if our US Army psychiatrist survives?

The problem is not, necessarily, individual Moslems, we can all agree to that; but the elephant in the room is the steadfast unwillingness by those who govern to admit that the real problem is the religon of Islam's open hatred of the West. And, of course, the further we continue to import more Moslems in our midst, the greater the chances are that Mr. Murchison may be on to something, albeit a bit late in the game: We need to brace ourselves!

Allow me to suggest a different remedy, one that has worked in the past: prevent further Moslem immigration into the country, if only based on the experiences of the English, French Dutch and German native populations. There are currently areas of the Midlands where "sharia" law is now the reigning legal code, especially in dealing with domestic disputes. How long will it be before such a request will be made to US officials?

But this policy of exclusion will not be tolerated in a liberal society that sees no enemies, except conservatives, even those who openly vow to destroy the West. Hence, we proceed merrily, like our Western European brethren, down the path to national suicide. One final note to Mr. Murchison: given our current immigration policy, I submit that, in a decade, there will not be time to "brace" ourselves.

  11. @ #8, Lone Racer, Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ came to unite all men in Him: that is called the Objective Redemption. However, each person must save his own soul by cooperation with the merits won by Christ on the cross: this is called justification or sanctifaction through subjective redemption. He can accomplish this only through the Catholic Church (and I do not mean the Modernist, Conciliar Church of Vatican II). I bring this up, because this nation (the U S. of A.) is not Christian. The very fact that there are Muslims (INFIDELS) in the U.S. Army (and probably in every other governmental service as well as on the average street corner) goes to prove that this nation is not Christian. If it was, no damn infidel would be allowed in!!!!!!

  12. How unsurprising that the MSM is going to blame these murders on *anti-Muslim intolerance*. Think about that. This tragedy is, in itself, an eloquent argument *against* 3rd world (specifically Muslim) immigration, but the MSM is slanting the story so that it plays as an argument against "intolerance", and therefore *against anti-immigrationists*.

You almost have to respect the sinister caginess of the MSM. Amazing.

  13. Our rulers are afraidc of Muslims. Being cowards, from their point of view, sacrificing a few of us peasants to placate the Muslims is a small price to pay.

  14. Once again Dr Wilson has hit the nail on the head.

They will also sacrifice lives for their utopian delusuons. That's why the nature of crime suits them so well. There is a stronger connexion between anarcho-tyranny and the Soviet police state than many realise. The only difference is that the Bolsheviks had the guts to do the dirty work themselves since they weren't cowards.

Like the Soviets, we invade and conquer other countries and call it 'Liberation'. Murder of innocents by Muslim renegades here at home becomes a lesson in 'tolerance', lest we evil white villains 'oppress' our helpless immigrant 'neighbours'.

The lesson is that while it took the Bolsheviks seventy years to lose their nerve, our rulers will lose it a lot faster, since, after all, they are cowards. I predict the regime will go down like a stack of cards.
