Israel was formed with NO help from the US. Look, the truth is this. AIPAC is the most powerful lobbying organization in the US when it comes to foreign policy bar none. And, Israeli interests have often been counter to US interests, yet we have done what was best for Israel despite what was in our interests. It gets deeper. We have done things which were BAD for Israel just because the Likud wanted it to happen.

Israel is a small country who, regardless of how well trained and powerful it's military is, would have to try to make nice with it's neighbors if we weren't so busy in their local politics.
