The Way Our World Ends
"This is the way the world ends/Not with a bang but a whimper," wrote T.S. Eliot in the closing couplet of "The Hollow Men."
Eliot's poem was written after the Great War of 1914-1918 had carried off 9 million soldiers, wounded twice as many more, brought down the Romanov, Hohenzollern and Habsburg empires, and ushered onto the world stage Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini and, soon, Adolf Hitler.
Readers have ascribed various meanings to Eliot's words. One college professor of English suggested Eliot was looking back to the "whimper" in the cradle in Bethlehem that signaled the end of the old world, the Pax Romana, and the coming of the new Christian age.
Some saw it as the whimper of a man facing the executioner's axe. Others say Eliot was referring to the middle-aged protagonist of "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock," who had "measured out my life with coffee spoons" and soon would "wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled."
Recent reports suggest God has another end in store for us.
An Augusta, Ga., group, The National Policy Institute, has meshed the figures on fertility rates with the continents and races on Planet Earth—to visualize what the world will look like in 2060.
In 1950, whites were 28 percent of world population and Africans 9 percent, a ratio of three-to-one. In 2060, the ratio will remain the same. But the colors will be reversed. People of African ancestry will be 25 percent of the world's population. People of European descent will have fallen to 9.8 percent.
More arresting is that the white population is shrinking not only in relative but in real terms. Two hundred million white people, one in every six on earth—a number equal to the entire population of France, Britain, Holland and Germany—will vanish by 2060.
The Caucasian race is going the way of the Mohicans.
Arabic peoples, 94 million at the birth of Israel in 1948, outnumbered seven to one by Europeans, will rise to 743 million in 2060, a tenfold increase, and will be 75 percent of the white population.
Fleshing out the NPI picture is the U.N. population survey of mid-2007 that points to the 21st century disappearance of Western Man.
By 2050, a fourth of all the people of Eastern Europe will have vanished. Ukraine will lose one-third of its population. Russia, 150 million at the breakup of the Soviet Union, 142 million today, will be down to 108 million. Such losses dwarf what Hitler and Stalin together did to these countries.
CIA Director Michael Hayden said this week that Russia will have to import workers from the Caucasus, Central Asia and China, exacerbating already serious racial and religious tensions in a nation with thousands of nuclear weapons.
With Russians east of the Urals outnumbered 100 to one by the Chinese, there is little doubt who will control the oil, gas, gold and timber of Siberia and be staring hungrily across the Bering Strait at Alaska.
By 2050, Iran's population will have risen from today's 71 million to 100 million. Pakistan will add 84 million to reach almost 300 million, the U.S. population today. Afghanistan's population will triple from 27 million to 79 million. Iraq's will go from 29 million to 62 million. The destinies of these nations will be beyond the capacity of an aging, dwindling, dying West to dictate.
The U.N. statistics, however, show the populations of Northern, Western and Southern Europe stabilizing or falling only slightly.
How can this be when only Iceland and Albania have fertility rates—2.1 children per woman—that can stop population declines, and all the rest have birthrates that would put bears, birds and wolves on the endangered species list?
Answer: Western Europe's populations are being sustained by immigrants from the Maghreb and Middle East, Asia and Africa—and the baby boom among these black and brown peoples is lifting and changing the face of the Old Continent forever. Islam is returning to Iberia, Italy and the Balkans. The Third World is coming to colonize the mother countries.
And America? According to the Pew Research Center, the Hispanic population of the United States will triple to 127 million by 2050, as Mexico's population grows to 130 million. An erasure of the U.S. border, or merger of the two countries, or the linguistic, cultural and social annexation of the American Southwest by Mexico appears fated.
Yet, last October, in another Pew poll of 45,000 people in 47 countries, a majority in 46 expressed fear of a loss of their traditional culture.
Sixty-two percent of Americans told Pew we should do more to protect our way of life. Three-fourths of Americans wanted more restrictions on immigration. Yet all three presidential candidates voted amnesty for the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens.
Hopefully, the peoples of Asia, Africa and the Middle East, who are about to inherit the earth as we pass away, will treat us better than our ancestors treated them in the five centuries that Western Man ruled the world.
Otherwise, we all go out with a bang.

I used to be rankled by use of the term "consumers" to mean Americans (esp. those of European heritage) collectively. Now no other term could be more fitting. We make nothing but fiat "money" anymore, and use more and more of it--as it dwindles toward zero value--to acquire and consume the things of actual value that others make. Since we citizens quit making babies, the idea of setting up a workable means of border protection against the tidal wave of illegal (so what?) immigration has become ludicrous. The US of the founders has ceased to be a beacon to the world, and has become its largest candle--consuming itself to nothingness.
Mark, a small but significant quibble: the America of the Founders hasn't existed for 150 years.
Far from me to shed more than a smidgen of sunlight on Pat's depressing parade, but although Pat points to very real dangers, a few quibbles are in order. Most of these projections are linear, assuming that the fertility rates will remain constant. There is some evidence that second and third-generation immigrant groups, even Muslims, have lower fertility rates than the first generation. This shift appears to be occurring even in the immigrants' home countries--Iranian fertility rates are falling sharply as the place urbanizes.
It is less likely, but possible, that the current Western fashion for childlessness may change. For example, the collapse of house prices may make family formation more affordable; a revival of religious feeling could occur.
It is also true that Christianity of a more traditional kind than we know in the West is spreading quite rapidly in Africa and apparently in China as well. Even if the descendants of today's converts don't look like us, they may share some values with Pat's grandparents. The barbarians who undermined Rome eventually gave rise to a new civilization. What would a Christianized China look like 100 years from now? As our successors may say, "¿Quién sabe?"
Demographics is scare science. Nevertheless Prof. Tom will soon be here warning off the Stormfronters like he is the nightwatchman in front of the museum of Political Correctness doing his duty to see that the glass display cases for the holy venerated objects of the new religion are not disturbed. Only an academic or an intellectual would actually quibble about his descendants displacement. Politicians having long ago taken the money and ran leaving the lumpens and rubes nothing to do but post on the internet to annoy people who scratch a living out of finishing the sentences illiterate liberals started.
It is really a race to the bottom. Third world growth rates are entirely dependent on Western medicine,epidemic control,famine relief,"genocide intervention",etc.etc.We will actually all decline together...or we'll realize it is imperative for everyone that a European Europe ,Russia and America survive and thrive.I say to my non-European friends,apres moi le deluge.
Prof Kevin MacDonald did some excellents writing on the changing demographics in America, speciffically the 1965 immigration act. He is now being hounded by the SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Centre).
It is also true that Christianity of a more traditional kind than we know in the West is spreading quite rapidly in Africa and apparently in China as well. Even if the descendants of today’s converts don’t look like us, they may share some values with Pat’s grandparents.
Does anyone actually care if this is happening or not? This issue is, as Pat states, the end of European man and not whether other races take up Christianity.
I think these extrapolations sound quite unrealistic. They probably assume infinite amount of available food and space. If the "white" contries just stop exporting food and importing people, the problem will attend to itself. In my opinion it appears as if people do not have very good understanding of population dynamics.

I think so too. I do hope that the Japanese and Chinese can save some of the Western heritage. At least, they seems to value the musical and artistic heritage. That's something.
But sofar, they haven't been as innovative as Europe once was, and the US is. I can't think of other cultures to be as succesful and developed as the West to expand on our philosophical works. I'm sorry, I just don't see it.

Pretty soon we won't anymore. Let's see how that's gonna work out for the third world. (Even though, I'm against interventionism in the Third World, I still dislike the anti-Western bias in much of the Third World.)

Maciano, I know this is a bit off topic for this thread, though it goes towards why we are in the predicament we are in. That being, the onslaught of the MSM against the western man and our indifference to fight it off. If we are too lazy to understand geo-political history and believe whatever the spin is from the MSM, then we do deserve our plight.
Pat is not exaggerating or scaring. In Los Angeles, the takeover is more or less complete. The former demographics are ended. You can tell by the gangs, grafitti, failed schools, etc. Once-excellent schools are now jokes. Those who can afford it, send their kids to decent private schools, but this is just bailing water out of a sinking ship.
Kevin Macdonald is an idiot. He runs around with a theory that suicidal policies promoted by Jews are a survival strategy, even if they are endangering Jewish survival.
He confuses victim neurosis with conspiracy and knows nothing about the difference between Jewish groups or beliefs. He couldn't tell the difference between the Mizrahi National Religious Movement and the Mizrahim or Oriental Jews.
If I were the conspiratorial type, I would think he was a sabator. That said, he and the SPLC are scum who deserve each other for fundraising purposes.

When sighting evidence of his work he references quotations and writings from Jewish sources. Communism especially in Russia was a Jewish political movement intelligence reports from US, Britian and others at the time state that. Are they Conspiratorial?

The fact that Richard Perle lead a study group to write a report called A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm for Benjamin Netanyahu, the leadership of a foreign country Israel in 1996 which states that removing Saddam would be good for Isreal was surely his motivation for pressuring Bush to invade Iraq.

Thats a good thing we have problems with Venezuala because the US tried to overthrough him in a coup in 2003, We let terrorist from around the world organise and operate to destroy Yugoslavia from which we got 9/11, Fort Dix, etc and historically the West has let Iran train and finance terrorists in Afghanistan and Bosnia we only seem to have problems with Iran with regards to Isreal.
All this moaning and groaning and not a one of you, from Mr. Buchanan through all the commenters, remembers or speaks of how lovely your wife looks with a new babe in her arms. Those new babes, with all their complications and responsibilities for mom and dad, bring joy and fulfillment.
They also reverse the "Death of the West."
