Apocalypse Now?

Patrick J. BuchananThe scaremongers are not always wrong. The Trojans should have listened to Cassandra. But history shows that the scaremongers are usually wrong.

Parson Malthus predicted mass starvation 250 years ago, as the population was growing geometrically, doubling each generation, while agricultural production was going arithmetically, by 2 percent or so a year. But today, with perhaps 1 percent of our population in full-time food production, we are the best-fed and fattest 300 million people on Earth.

Karl Marx was proven dead wrong about the immiseration of the masses under capitalism and the coming revolution in the industrial West, though they still have hopes at Harvard.

Neville Chute's On the Beach proved as fictional as Dr. Strangelove and Seven Days in May. Paul Ehrlich's Population Bomb never exploded. It fizzled, when the Birth Dearth followed the Baby Boom.

The Crash of '79 never happened. Instead, we got Ronald Reagan and record prosperity. The Club of Rome notwithstanding, we did not run out of oil. The world did not end in Y2K, when we crossed the millennium, as some had prophesied. "Nuclear winter," where we were all going to freeze to death after the soot from Reagan's nuclear war blotted out the sun, didn't quite happen. Rather, the Soviet Empire gave up the ghost.

Is then global warming—a steady rise in the temperature of the Earth to where the polar ice caps melt, oceans rise 23 feet, cities sink into the sea and horrendous hurricanes devastate the land—an imminent and mortal danger?

Put me down as a disbeliever.

Like the panics of bygone eras, this one has the aspect of yet another re-enactment of the Big Con. The huckster arrives in town, tells all the rubes that disaster impends for them and their families, but says there may be one last chance they can be saved. But it will take a lot of money. And the folks should go about collecting it, right now.

This, it seems to me, is what the global-warming scare and scam are all about—frightening Americans into transferring sovereignty, power and wealth to a global political elite that claims it alone understands the crisis and it alone can save us from impending disaster.

Under the Kyoto Protocol, from which China and India were exempt, the United States was to reduce carbon emissions to 1990 levels, which could not be done without inducing a new Depression and reducing the standard of living of the American people. So, we ignored Kyoto—and how have we suffered? The Europeans who signed on also largely ignored it. How have they suffered?

We are told global warming was responsible for the hurricane summer of Katrina and Rita that devastated Texas, Mississippi and New Orleans. Yet Dr. William Gray, perhaps the nation's foremost expert on hurricanes, says he and his most experienced colleagues believe humans have little impact on global warming and global warming cannot explain the frequency or ferocity of hurricanes. After all, we had more hurricanes in the first half of the 20th century than in the last 50 years, as global warming was taking place.

"We're brainwashing our children," says Gray. "They're going to the Gore movie (An Inconvenient Truth) and being fed all this. It's ridiculous. . . . We'll look back on all of this in 10 or 15 years and realize how foolish it was."

Gray does concede that for a scholar to question global warming can put his next federal grant in mortal peril.

While modest warming has taken place, there is no conclusive evidence human beings are responsible, no conclusive evidence Earth's temperature is rising dangerously or will reach intolerable levels and no conclusive evidence that warming will do more harm than good.

The glaciers may be receding, but the polar bear population is growing, alarmingly in some Canadian Indian villages. Though more people on our planet of 6 billion may die of heat, estimates are that many more may be spared death from the cold. The Arctic ice cap may be shrinking, but that may mean year-round passage through northern Canadian waters from the Atlantic to the Pacific and the immense resources of the Arctic made more accessible to man. Why else did Vladimir Putin's boys make their dash to claim the pole?

The mammoth government we have today is a result of politicians rushing to solve "crises" by creating and empowering new federal agencies.

Whether it's hunger, poverty or homelessness, in the end, the poor are always with us, but now we have something else always with us: scores of thousands of federal bureaucrats, and armies of academics to study the problem and assess the progress, with all their pay and benefits provided by our tax dollars.

Cal Coolidge said that when you see 10 troubles coming up the road toward you, sometimes the best thing to do is nothing, because nine of them will fall into the ditch before they get to you. And so it will be with global warming, if we don't sell out America to the hucksters who would save us.

  1. Global warming seems like a new (old) religion to me. We worship/fear the sun and make sacrifices to it in the form of carbon offsets.

Here's an idea. Let's fill a space ship with virgins and shoot it into the sun. Assuming we can find any virgins, this would be at least as effective as the offsets.

  2. Scientist have now discovered that the verocious appetite of the 1000 lb + Bull Moose is destroying the ozone layer! It's diet creates flagelation of methane gas that causes more damage than an suv with a quality exaust system!............True environmentalist should launch a major campaign to destroy these "Behemoths" of flagelation before we all die!

  3. Pat, you're a smart man - anyone conservative who can quote a great man like Coolidge knows his roots.

  4. Apocalypse Later:

i've already let everyone know - for i think almost 10 years now - christ isn't coming back till' 3000 ... so chill.

    Questions?

I get a big kick out of the question - "arent' we 'ready' yet?"

    "NO."

  5. If these secular eschatologists ever find a why to gain the alliance with the dispensationalists/rapturists like the neo-cons have done, we'll be in really big trouble, particularly those of us who hold to life, liberty and property and to the republic in which those rights are embodied.

  6. Just for the record, the portliness of most Americans is testimony to their malnutrition caused mainly by the "GDP-ization" of every single possible activity including Motherhood by our White Anglo Saxon Capitalists. The end result of malnutrition is generally a degenerative disease --a more or less slow and painful death -- of which most all cancers, heart disease, arthritis, Alzheimer's etc. are examples. (I believe but cannot prove, although the facts tend to support such, that beginning with Henry VIII's barons takeover of the commons and the putting of their farmers on the road to make way for sheep and wool, leading to the British effort to run a navy on rum and salt pork which was only saved with the discovery of limes and proceeding to America's unlimited faith in magic pills and medical intervention, that the ruling elite is committed to filling the hoi polloi with non-descript fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, all seasoned with sodium chloride -- feaux food -- with magic bullets to be supplied on the fly as they are found.) The only real solution is real, unadulterated food.

Also, of the 7 or 8 "species" of bear, their are only 2 separate species. All the bears of North America (black, grizzly, brown, polar, etc.) are sub species which can mate and produce fertile offspring.

And if global warming proceeds to the point of melting all the glacial and Antarctic ice, many large, truly ugly, and obnoxious cities will only survive if they "Venice-ize". People who want thousand year empires should locate their capitals and commerce centers as the Romans did. Carthage anyone?

  7. Predictions of future events are notoriously bad, but making observations about the past and present and using them to inform decisions that will affect the future is just common sense. Regarding global warming, while it is tempting enough to laugh at the apocalypticism, we should resist the temptation to reflexively deny it just because we fear that, if the threat were real, it might justify industrial restrictions or some form of governmental intervention.

So far as I know, all right-wing political parties in other countries are very concerned about their homelands' natural landscapes, and with good reason. And in any case, polar ice caps are not all that are at stake. The same activities that throw chlorine and greenhouse gases into the air are those that have destroyed traditional patterns of family, community, culture and aesthetics in the Western world. It is not a matter of polar bears so much as preserving or rediscovering a sense of sacredness in the places we inhabit.

  8. To see so many of my neighbors and friends believe a fictional propagana piece such as Gore's illconceived story, is disheartening to say the least. What should have stood out most from that film is Gore's narcissistic personality.

That said, we do have plenty of problems with everyday pollution that we need to continue to strive toward reducing. I agree with NGP Moses' second paragraph but I do think people should deny this false truth and propagana of "Global Warming". It will only lead to idiotic bureaucratic agencies such as Homeland Security or even worse, some sort of GLOBAL one. We'll see.

  9. Dr. Wilson said once that he was a lot more skeptical about global warming before hearing that George W. Bush didn't (formerly) believe it was true. I tend to agree: whatever the merits of the contra position, the fact that a large number of naysayers were neocons and libertarians does not speak in its favor.

  10. I agree that the environmental, global warming industry may be bunk. It's just another aspect of globalization, countries giving up sovereignty to join in yet another international agreement to solve a "problem."

Nevertheless, one shouldn't forget that the basic meaning of 'conservatism' (from the Latin conservare) implies conservation, something which conservatives should value. Stewardship over the land requires a whole host of duties. And there is virtue in wanting to preserve our natural landscape. In this sense, not only should global-warming gurus be our enemies, but so should many of the short-sighted developers, who would transform every beautiful forest, field, or stream into another tacky subdivision or Wal-Mart parking lot, if they think it would return a profit.

Under recent immigration proposals (e.g. the McCain-Kennedy bill), another 100 million people would immigrate to the U.S. in the next 45 years, erasing much of the natural landscape. Forests will be leveled to create little Mexicos, Calcuttas, and Beijings. Now this is barbarism on a scale grander than anything I know. Unfortunately, many of the "environmentalists" (with people like Edward Abbey and Roy Beck excepted), ignore this aspect of conservation, because to acknowledge it would be politically incorrect.

  11. Bede has said what I would have said here if I had gotten to it first.

No one knows better than myself what over development can do. Right now, they are widening out a two-lane highway that I travel on every day. They are spending lord knows how much taxpayer money needlessly, just to serve the vanity of the owners and residents of a certain retirement community located not far from where I live. Also, the nearest city, hemmed in for decades on it's northern edge by a national park that prevented expansion in that direction, is being surrounded by a beltway that will run north of that park, thus opening the way for northward expansion, and luring wierdos out into areas north of the city where they have been rare so far. Population and development will pour north and likely will make my hometown unlivable in a few short years. Thanks a lot, great State of Arkansas!

Perhaps it's an irony that Agrarians must be enemies of the environmentalist ideologues on the one hand, and of the developers and progressive ideologues on the other.

  12. Use some commons sense and look at the big picture. None of the climate models, CO2 measurements, etc. mean anything. The earth has gone through periods of extreme warmth and extreme cold for millions of years, long before humans could do little more than start a fire by rubbing two sticks together. Even if humans are affecting the temperature, to some miniscule degree, it isn't anything that hasn't happened before as a result of volcanoes, meteors, sunspots, forest fires, etc. When you concede to a non-sensical argument from one of these scaremongers, you justify their remedy, which is large-scale enslavement of the human race.

  13. "Dr. Wilson said once that he was a lot more skeptical about global warming before hearing that George W. Bush didn’t (formerly) believe it was true."

Yes, this is a good rule of thumb. If they lie about war, opposition to infanticide, have a pattern of behavior which prefers the aphrodisiac of power to anything else , you can be sure they don't give a wit for beauty --- of the earth, science, or otherwise. And of course Dr. Wilson is a wise man and knows a fool when he hears one. But Gore did when the popular vote of those who voted for Twiddle Dee against Twiddle Dum, and the recent global warming debate reminds us all that it still remains close between yahoo #1 and yahoo # 2.

  14. Things are never as good or as bad as they seem. I also think it's funny that people who think minor changes in our behavior have radical effects on the physical environment, yet they believe we can alter major social institutions--like marriage or ethnocentrism--and carry on without any trouble whatsoever. It's a weird combination, and I think the globalist, anti-capitalist motivation explains both.

  15. As I age, I have come to accept the theory/conspiracy that a very tiny amount of people control the vast wealth of the world. Through deceit, manipulation, and control of vast numbers of governments they create "financial growth and opportunity" in certain regions to their advantage. It is illogical that the U.S.A. and it's "anti-industrial" policies that started in the seventies can save the world as we simultaniously bring one billion Chinese into a new industrial revolution.(Do they even have an O.S.H.A. overlord?).......Can the people of India be expected to be responsible industrialists?........After a friend of mine returned from visiting a new Steel Mill in South America, he joked that the welders were welding with sun glasses and would be blind within 3 years.(Yet, they were our newest competitor)...Our Steel Mill trying to compete and survive on a global scale had NO sympathy regarding "Foreign Steel Dumped" on us in exports(As we were trying to overcome the cost of our multi-million dollar anti-pollution system.) Bad trade deals were also going in place to eliminate the auto industry that had actualy been birthed in the U.S.A.....Grandpa's 30 years and a gold watch was becoming less and less comon. The trade and craft employees of the first half of the 20th century were headed down the same road as the "Blacksmith," and made in America was irrelevant. I now look at the 100 year old courthouses with their unbelievable brick work and ornate design and wonder who those men were that created such beauty?.........................Poor people during hard times........And I can sense those times returning.

  16. Shamir's Interview to the Swedish Magazine FiB

This interview was given to the leading radical left-wing magazine of Sweden, FiB, some time ago, and here I offer easy answers to usual questions. Useful!

Question. You claim that anti-semitism doesn’t exist today. Can you explain what you mean by saying so?

Shamir: Antisemitism was a short-lived racial theory of late 19th century claiming that - like zebras are what they are, jews are what they are; that they possess some racial qualities making them an inherent enemy of the Nordic race, like a wolf is an enemy of a rabbit. This view was unknown previously, as the Church and the Ulema thought that the problem between Jews and Gentiles is a religious problem; conversion of a Jew into Christianity or Islam removed the problem. The racial view is quite out of fashion today; and I have never met a person who would consider jews being some race apart, dangerous to the rest.

Or, taking a less learned approach, antisemitism is presented as 'hatred of Jews for what they are'. Such a phenomenon vanished completely. There are people who object to policies of Jews, but none - to Jews per se.

That is why we can say that antisemitism disappeared after a very short shelf-life. Jews tend to use this word for perfectly legitimate, nay, commendable objection to their policies; for instance, to the policies of Israel etc, but then it is just an offensive label.

Question: When you say that antisemitism doesn't exist today you define antisemitism as an old racial theory. Is it correct that you define for example vandalism of Jewish graveyards and private belongings for "objecting to policies of Jews". If a young person with Jewish background living in Sweden who is not engaged in politics is beaten up by neo nazis or someone else. What do you call that? Doesn´t there exist violence and hatred towards Jews based on the fact that they are Jews, call it a race or call it an ethnicity or religion. Would you still call this violence and hatred "objecting to policies of Jews"?

Shamir: Illegal and criminal acts are exactly that, and the reasoning of the criminal is of little importance. Nobody is allowed to vandalise cemetories or beat up people, whether they are Jews or not. Do you think if a goy is beaten up, or a non-Jewish cemetery is vandalised - it is less grevious? Take Jews off your mind. If an act is criminal - then it is criminal, if it is not - then it is not criminal. There is no reason to assume that jews are special; that a beaten up Jew is a worse affront than a beaten up goy.

You've asked: "If a young person with Jewish background living in Sweden who is not engaged in politics is beaten up by neo nazis or someone else. What do you call that? "

I am not sure such events occur - more often than any sort of gang violence. *In France, Jewish militants beat up anti-Zionists quite often, but I have not heard of non-fake case of French beating Jews. *In New York, Jewish Defence League beats and kills goyim, and somehow nobody discusses 'Jewish hatred of Goy'. Indeed, criminal behaviour of miscreants is not a reason to build up case for 'antisemitism' or 'goy hatred' - police should just attend to criminals.

You've asked: "Doesn´t there exist violence and hatred towards Jews based on the fact that they are Jews, call it a race or call it an ethnicity or religion." The answer is NO. Not yet, but if good wishers would promote this idea ad nauseum they may succeed :-)

As for hatred, it is such a mother-in-lawish word:

"Son, I know you hate me and want me dead!"

"No, mama, but I want us to control our lives ourselves".

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/shamireaders/message/991

no REALLY look at *reality - who beats up whom-?-today!

That is a brilliant summation of the foolishness of this country's economic strategy and the diminishing respect for craftmanship that has accompanied our de-industrialization. A nation that doesn't value productive work is surely one that is destined to become a nation of crude and ignorant layabouts.

  18. I have read many of Mr. Buchanan's works on this website and enjoyed them.

I part company with this article.

Interesting to quote Calvin Coolidge and his nine of ten disasters. What about the tenth one?

In Coolidge's case, it was the depression. He was out of office before it hit.

In our case, it is global warming. Whether a natural or man-induced phenomenon, it is here. What happens with all of the melted ice, and the billions of littoral people in rich and poor countries? What happens when the per capita income in China and India reaches the levels of, say, South Korea and they all want two cars and houses full of appliances?

By the way, I am not an academic, I am a banker. Sustainability is good business, and further the need to be sustainable creates business opportunities.

We need to shift paradigms, quickly. If we can do this in business and still be "conservative," why not regarding the environment??

  19. Who was it that said "If you don't have a solution you don't have a problem?" I know it was somebody we all would recognize but I can't remember his name. This saying fits the global warming issue to a T.

I think we all know that the climate has been warmer here in the US during the last 15 years than it was over the previous thirty or forty. Whether it is caused by man's activities or not means nothing - we cannot control it regardless. We simply will have to adapt or perish. If man's activities are not contributing to this warm weather cycle then we certainly cannot do anything about it. If man's activities are contributing to this warm weather cycle then there is nothing we can do about it - you simply cannot control the combined activities (economic or otherwise) of 6,500,000,000 people around the globe. Not without massive centralized, brutal government. The only thing I would advocate that might (however small the possibility) help the situation is that all countries around the world should outlaw immigration to their shores. That way at least the third world countries could not dump their excess population on us and other developed nations

  20. re: #15 and #17

That is very interesting. I was talking about those same issues with a co-worker and we decided that the only new structures built in this country, of elaborate design and intricate detail are casinos in Las Vegas. Over the years, beautiful brick and stone work has been traded for vinyl siding. Fine plaster has been traded for cheap drywall. Fieldstone patios, hearths and chimneys, very common in my area until the 1950's, have been traded for concrete patios and fake-ventless gas fireplaces, etc...

  21. re #20....As labor costs falls to $3.00 an hour, the elite will then demand great architecture and quality as labor costs offsets material costs. The Historical Societies are filled with the Elite as the working class simply trudge along to make ends meet.(No, I'm not a communist)....We have actually come to the point of the "Disposable Automobile" as insurance companies measure the costs of repair against totaling out the auto and simply raising everyones insurance premiums. Elitist hate the reality that "Grease Monkeys" from the fifties have elevated themselves to "Technician" with a fair wage scale. Liberals impose minimum wage standards, intitlement programs, mandatory healthcare, safety standards, for votes while simultaniously re-locating manufacturing offshore and seeking the cheapest illegal nanny that they can find. Wall Street now controls the political landscape as the old industrialists fade away. Henry Ford, once chastized by other industrialists for paying a better than fair wage responded in comon sense that "Inorder to have an automobile in every driveway, the people must first be able to purchase one!" These giants have been replaced by "McDonalds" just as our sports heros have been transformed into multi-million dollar gladiater gangsters.(The world was appaled when Mickey Mantle signed a $100,000 a year contract). We have traded in our politicaly influential industrialist for Hollywood pornographers, sports icons, drug lords, and stock investors............Such vehicles for success in the next generation?.....And the reminants of blue-collar America can learn Spainish or starve!

  22. "That way at least the third world countries could not dump their excess population on us and other developed nations"

Of course, as no one seems to recognize here, modern nation-states would collapse if this happened due to the lack of native reproduction. *THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH YOUNG PEOPLE TO SUPPORT THE POPULATION OF THE DYING WESTERN STATES.* And they won't just magically appear, no stork will drop them, and there are no dragons' teeth to sow. Some people just will have to be admitted from outside. Deal with it.

  23. "*THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH YOUNG PEOPLE TO SUPPORT THE POPULATION OF THE DYING WESTERN STATES.* And they won’t just magically appear, no stork will drop them, and there are no dragons’ teeth to sow. Some people just will have to be admitted from outside. Deal with it.''

Well Mr. Cundiff (you anonymous weasel), if that is so, then explain why Japan, which has a birthrate much lower than ours as well as virtually zero immigration, hasn't collapsed. And please don't give us the Wall Street Journal nonsense that Japan is suffering through a long deflationary recession. Their economy has performed considerably better than ours in recent years, with an unemployment rate lower than this country's and with average hourly wages (minus benefits) higher than in the U.S.

  24. Where is the scientific law or theory that states a nation must continuously increase in population to thrive?

  25. Mr Anonymous,

We must face the problem at hand - not a perceived problem. You must be prescient to envision that decreasing population is a bigger problem than ever-increasing population. We have experience and can see what the result of the latter is - Atlanta, Georgia now covers practically the entire northwestern corner of the state of Georgia (and that is only a slight exaggeration). Now, as I alluded to earlier there is very little we can do about this - what is IS. However, we need to quit fooling ourselves about what is happening.

  26. To further my other post: For example, on a micro-scale, I live in Pittsburgh, PA. We have negative population growth and the city and county continue to lose population. Many believe that this is a negative, for all the reasons typically repeated by state capitalists. Much to the contrary, I view it is as a profound positive. Lack of growth means no magnet for illegal aliens. There are virtually no Mexicans or Central Americans in Pittsburgh. Consequently, our crime rates are correspondingly low and our quality of life remains high. Housing is affordable, neighborhoods have largely remained intact and everybody speaks English. Compare this to areas of high growth, like Florida, Arizona, and Nevada... which are now barely recognizable as US states.

  27. "If these secular eschatologists ever find a why to gain the alliance with the dispensationalists/rapturists like the neo-cons have done, we’ll be in really big trouble, particularly those of us who hold to life, liberty and property and to the republic in which those rights are embodied." -robert m. peters

some people, usually neocon wannabes just can't take a joke. although i cut them slack. a pious fraud is at least pious. that's a net gain, in the zero sum reality of our world, under God. Thanks God.
    __________

  28. Carefull Mickey, you may find a few of us heading towards Pittburgh.

  29. "negative population growth"???? That's population decline - also known as extinction on the installment plan. Move to Pittsburgh? Why not move to Russia, where the whole country is dying off with population declining at the rate of about a million people per year.

  30. Once again, what about Japan? What we need is a stable population.

  31. The Japanese government, fearful of population decline, is urging the Japanese to have more children and this has actually resulted, at least temporarily, in an uptick in the birthrate, though not yet a sufficient one to bring the country back into positive demographic balance. In the meantime, economic necessity has resulted in the importation of more than a million Korean illegals.

  32. The Byzantines went through periods of demographic decline from which they eventually recovered. It is true that the economy will decline with declining birth rates, and there will be a period of hard times, perhaps very hard. That does not mean that we should import aliens to do our work for us. If the native population shrinks, then the economy should shrink with it. After all, the economy is there to serve the people, and therefore should be allowed to adjust to them and their needs. We dont need more jobs than there are people already here. If businesses cant find enough workers to fill their vacant jobs, then they need to do away with those jobs and shrink in size right along with the native population. The economy must not be maintained artificially by importing alien workers to serve the seflish interests of capitalists. That will just be creating a bubble that will eventually pop and destroy itself. Worse, it will be demographic suicide.

If we can keep aliens out, then eventually our population will stabilise and begin growing again, and the economy will stabilise and begin to grow right along with it. The same is true of every European country in the world. We must keep the aliens out and expell those already here.

  33. Good luck to any native population which expects to keep aliens out while the native population is in decline. Can the few getting fewer defeat the many? Can the old and decrepit defeat the young and vigorous? Can the pleasure-loving, effete and sterile defeat the hard-working, manly and fertile? Nothing is more pathetic than the anti-population people whining about alien invasions and takeovers while they contracept, sterilize, and abort themselves out of existence.

  34. Who on this site is supporting contraception, sterilization and abortion? What we are talking about is stabilizing population. The only possible way to do that is to stop immigration. We've run out of space. Of course I have to admit that Chinese, Indians, Hispanics and others don't mind living on top of each other like sardines - or maybe they just don't have a choice.

  35. The elites and greedy capitalists don't want more of us (Anglos). They are very happy that we are disappearing and all of their government policies are bent towards making sure we disappear, but not before we spend all of our money on cheap plastic garbage made in China. We require too many resources and we are too educated. They want more uneducated illegals who will work for slave wages, live in barrios, and, with high birth rates, can easily displace the Anglos who might actually stand in the way of the NAU, etc.. We have a birthright, our ancestors fought many times over for this country, some of us are still attached to this land, and we have (what is left of) a culture. The illegals have no loyalty to our nation. In fact, many of them have outright hatred. The bottom line is, if they can dilute and largely eliminate the native population, they can finally dissolve the nation, which is what they really want.

Our government could easily keep the aliens out, if that was what they desired to do.

  36. Why is stabilizing population an intrinsic good? And stopping immigration would result not in a stable population but in the declining population advocated by Allen Wilson, since the native population of the US both black and white are reproducing below long term replacement level. And yes this is being accomplished by contraception, sterilization, and abortion. Does anyone seriously think it is being done by sexual abstinence? Mr. Droney thinks that Anglos require too many resources and have too much education. Requiring excessive resources is known as greed and the education is mostly government indoctrination. The real problem with most Anglos and many others is too few children.

  37. Am I greedy because I like to shower daily and prefer not to have my food handled by a Third-world illegal with hepatitis?

  38. Sorry, call me obtuse but I just don't understand why we would worry about the potential dangers of declining or stable populations when we have the actual dangers of the opposite right in front of us. Perhaps with an end to immigration Americans would have a brighter outlook on things and husbands and wives would head for the bedroom.

  39. Without waiting for the end of immigration, my wife and I headed for the bedroom and produced five kids who have considerably brightened our outlook on life. Those who wait to see the end of immigration before reproducing will see neither the end of immigration nor any descendents of their own.

  40. “We remain a hunted people. Now you think you have a destiny to fulfill in the land that historically has been ours for forty thousand years. And we’re a new Mestizo nation.”

“Our devil has pale skin and blue eyes…”

“We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him.”

    – Professor Jose Angel Gutierrez, founder of La Raza

"Around the year 2040, whites will become a minority in the United States and, believe me, it will be 'payback time'."

    - Pro-Immigration Activist, Jorge Sanchez

“And the one idea is, how we are going to exterminate white people because that in my estimation is the only conclusion I have come to. We have to exterminate white people off the face of the planet to solve this problem.”

    - African Studies professor, Dr. Kamau Kambon

"Blond hair and blue eyes are a biological defect."

"The white race is a disease, and the only cure is a bullet. The rule of whites is history. Soon they will be our serfs. It's now the Age of the Brown Man."

    - Hindu nationalist, Ramesh Sharma

“The goal of abolishing the white race is on its face so desirable that some may find it hard to believe that it could incur any opposition other than from committed white supremacists. Make no mistake about it we intend to keep bashing the dead white males, and the live ones, and the females too, until the social construct known as ‘the white race’ is destroyed–not ‘deconstructed’ but destroyed."

    - Jewish studies professor, Dr Noel Ignatiev

  41. It is a complete myth that a smaller population is a bad thing. Many here have bought into the "Cult of the Colossus."

Professor George Borjas has demonstrated that a country can still be viable with a smaller population. And "replacement" with immigration does not work, as the immigrants take more from the economy than they return. And who will pay for their retirement? More immigrants?

Better to have a smaller population than to open the floodgates to hordes of third-world immigrants. A country with a smaller population will have higher wages, more natural resources, and a prettier landscape -- which is preferable to watching your country become a third-world sewer.

  42. If post #41 is correct, then clearly the North American continent was far better off under American Indian management than after the arrival of the Europeans (a thesis that the cultural Marxists would certainly agree with) and Russia with its low birth rate, increasing death rate, and accelerated die-off must be paradise indeed. As far as it being better to have a smaller population than to open the floodgates to hordes of immigrants, even if it's better, it's not possible in the long run. How is a small, aging, declining population going to keep out hordes? An unmanned wall won't do the trick.

  43. I hate to bring this up, but Pittsburgh's low crime rate may not be due to a lack of Mexicans and Central and South Americans, but, possibly, due to a (relative) lack of "African-Americans".

The City of Pittsburgh is about as "Black" as the City of Atlanta is "White", something between 25 and 30%. Metropolitan Pittsburgh is around 8 to 9% "Negro", compared to, once again, Atlanta, which is around 29% "Colored".

It goes without saying there is strong positive correlation between a city's crime rate and it's percent "Afro-American" population. The same can not necessarily be said of crime rates and Hispanics/Latinos/Mexicans/whatever they're called.

Coming from Atlanta, a city that was once almost entirely Black and White, with a burgeoning Hispanic population, I can tell you with great confidence you are much safer in the Hispanic neighborhoods than you are in Black. I walk free from harassment around Plaza Fiesta on Buford Highway, but constantly accosted by Blacks when walking through the predominantly Black "South Central Business District" in downtown Atlanta.

Anyway, so Indians/Meztisos are moving into America. How is that an "invasion" and not a "reclamation"? Should not White Europeans fight the Arabic/Turkish/Moorish invasion of Europe? If you fight "Mexican immigration" in America, doesn't it make as much sense for you to be heading to Europe to fight immigration there? Also, should you not be fighting alongside the "Palestinians"? What about the Serbs? The Russians? The Greeks? The Ukrainians? Where does it stop?

  44. Andrew,

I wouldn't disagree with much of what you said. However, having spent a good deal of time in Los Angeles and having seen the "neighborhoods" broken down between hispanic gangs and black gangs, I am glad that my hometown does not have large populations of hispanics to accompany the black population and the resultant gang warfare. Sure, some things could be better, but it is better than most of cities of similar size and I hope it stays that way.

  45. By the way, roho, I believe you meant "flatulence" rather than "flagellation". I agree that the prospect of a moose 'flagellating methane gas' would be alarming.
