But of course U.S. officials don't care about Europe, even though her collapse would signal our own. This is merely further proof that the little republic which stressed trade and peace has long ceased to exist. With the eye of Sauron our satellites peer into the intimate places. Our submarines prowl the depths of every ocean and sea with weapons capable of destroying the world a thousand times over. Our ships lurk outside every harbor of the world and inside no few. Our air force casts its shadow on nearly every land and is capable of delivering death and destructing into every dale and onto every plain of the Earth. Our armies are posted on every continent and currently wage horrific wars. There is little commerce without our currency.
