		<description>Andrei Navrozov&#039;s &quot;Kierkegaards and the Camera&quot; sets one&#039;s teeth on edge and forces them to ponder the &quot;progress&quot; of man. As well written as it is, I would add one thought.

Unless I misunderstand, Mr. Navrazov cites Soren Kiekegaard and Lev Shestov as witnesses that knowledge brings not truth but moral penury. Adam, having partaken of the fruit of knowledge of good and evil, bequeathed to us the right of choice. The use we make of our knowledge determines the good or evil in it.

I should here make a distinction between wisdom and knowledge. Mr. Webster indicates that knowledge requires experience; a thing we seldom have before diving headlong into our newest technology or ideology. Wisdom is the thing we generally term &quot;knowledge.&quot;

&#039;Little knowledge is a dangerous thing indeed; as it leaves us making our choices in half ignorance, relying on falsehoods and suppositions. If we are to make the right choices, we need to have full knowledge. Else we are like the blind man examining the elephant. And, while none of us possess full knowledge; the more we have, the better our choices become.

To a great extent, in our eagernous to employ our new found knowledge, new technology or dogma du jour; we find we have wandered into a morass of our own ineptitude. To use a football analogy, we fumble the ball because we run before we catch it.

Instead of decrying the persuit of wisdom and knowledge, it would be better to temper our estimation of our intellegence with a healthy cognizance of our propensity to trip over our own feet.

Intellectual conservatism requires that we determine the depth of the pond before we jump in; and that we be certain of swimming skills before we attempt to cross.

Scripture says that we should gain wisdom and knowledge. Therefore, I conclude, any problems that arrise from the knowledge acquired are a result of our own misuse; whether out of stupidity or malice.
